Chapin Community

"Community with Character"

Chapin is a town in Lexington County on the northern shores of Lake Murray, with approximately 40,000 residents. Chapin is approximately 20 miles away northwest of Columbia, South Carolina’s capital. Commonly known as the Community with Character, residents enjoy the best of both country and city living, along with a strong sense of community and neighborliness.  The town is conveniently located halfway between the mountains and the beach.  Easy access to I-20, I-26, and I-77 make trips either way about 2 to 2.5 hours, which is perfect for a weekend getaway.

The city of Lexington is nearby and offers a wide array of shopping, dining, and entertainment.  Residents attend award winning District 5 of Lexington and Richland counties schools. Chapin High School is a great source of pride for citizens, as it is a National Blue Ribbon Award Winner in 2009 and was recently recognized by US News and World Report.
